May 20, 2015

The Weidner Center for the Performing Arts announces the 2015-2016 Stage Doors Education Series, providing learning opportunities for students traveling from over 61 cities and 23 counties throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

The 2015-2016 series kicks off in November 2015 and extends through April 2016, featuring 10 titles and a total of 19 performances.  This season brings to the Weidner Center national and international touring shows, along with a special production by the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay Theatre department.  Programs are selected to complement current classroom curriculum with creative and imaginative learning, critical thinking opportunities and live performance experiences. Performance-specific study guides are provided to help educators integrate show topics into classroom activities.

The Weidner Center continues its educational partnership with The Children’s Museum of Green Bay.  Students attending select performances have the option to participate in a full day of activities, interactive learning and special hands-on projects related to each show.  Four events in the series, Dog Loves Books, Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny, Skippyjon Jones Snow What and Chicken Dance are part of the program this season.
