West African Dance of Madison
Presentation led by Paddy Cassidy

This troupe of dancers and musicians has one foot firmly planted in the musical traditions of West Africa and another stepping towards modern innovation. The evening’s event is part performance and part group discussion that provides audiences with an exciting and informative introduction to African culture through music and dance. WADOMA endeavors to bring a centuries-old form of social expression to Western audiences and blends African, American and other global art forms to create a one-of-a-kind spectacle of movement and sound, educating and inspiring people through the universal experience of music and dance.

360° Thursdays: music from every angle will present eight events during the 2013-14 academic year. The performances are designed to help audiences connect with music in more meaningful ways. Events feature scintillating and provocative discussions by composers, performers, and arrangers in which specific aspects of the music are explored through multiple perspectives.
